Our Story
3rd Avenue Guitar® was founded in 2022 by a team of passionate musicians and entrepreneurs. We started out as a small shop in London, hand-selecting guitars, amps and accessories from manufacturers around the world. Our goal was simple: to make playing music accessible and enjoyable for all.
As we grew, so did our product range. We added more guitar and ukulele models catering to beginners and experts alike. We expanded into drum kits, keyboards, recording equipment and other tools to support musicians through every stage of their musical journey.
Today, 3rd Avenue Guitar® has become one of the leading online destinations for guitars and music gear in the UK. However, our founding spirit remains the same. We’re a team of music lovers on a mission to enable creative expression through quality instruments, training and support.

The passionate and dedicated 3rd Avenue Guitar® team brings decades of collective experience in music retail, teaching, product design and more. Although our roles are diverse, we share a love for enabling musicianship and creativity.
Leadership
Our leadership team sets the vision and direction for 3rd Avenue Guitar®. They ensure we stay true to our purpose while constantly improving.
- Jane Davies, Founder and CEO – A lifelong musician and entrepreneur with a BMus and MBA. She leads the company’s growth strategy and oversees our commitment to quality, customer experience and social impact.
- Mark Evans, COO – With 20+ years in music retail and ecommerce operations, Mark keeps business processes running smoothly so we can deliver excellence. He also spearheads our sustainability initiatives.
- Simone Wise, CFO – Oversees the financial health and performance of the company. Her financial acumen and analytical skills are invaluable as we scale our offerings.
- Akash Shah, CTO – Leads development of our industry-leading online platform and omnichannel technology stack. He heads an agile team of engineers, data scientists and UX designers.

Our team of highly qualified music teachers, performers and technicians evaluate every instrument we carry. Their expertise ensures you get exceptional function, tone and playability across all products.
- Pete Ryan: Product Manager, Guitars – Former session guitarist and teacher. Oversees quality control and setup for our acoustic, classical and electric guitar lines.
- Amy Bell: Product Manager, Ukuleles – An acclaimed ukulele virtuoso and instructor. Responsible for sourcing and approving ukes that exceed expectations at every price point.
- Dan Peters: Product Manager, Amps/Accessories – Experienced guitar tech and gear enthusiast. Tests and evaluates amps, pedals, strings and accessories for tone, durability and versatility.

- Emma Clark: Customer Service Manager – Leads our team of specialists handling pre-and post-sales support via phone, email and chat. Her background in music therapy helps connect with customers on a personal level.
- Chris Lee: Technical Support Lead – Heads technical troubleshooting and instrument setup guidance. Chris and his team have repaired thousands of guitars and can diagnose any issue.
- Sabrina Kemp: Education Manager – Oversees our instructional resources and workshops. She helps lifelong learners find the right educational tools and courses for their musical journey.
